Sweet Harvest Foods Donates More Than 3,750 Pounds of Honey to Support Local Food Banks during Summer Break
Donation helps provide food for children and families facing increased food insecurity when school meal programs pause for the summer
Cannon Falls, Minn. – June 4, 2026 – Sweet Harvest Foods, the largest producer of raw, unfiltered honey and parent company of Nate’s Honey and Nate’s Hives, has donated more than 3,750 pounds of honey to food banks near its production facilities to help support children and families facing food insecurity during summer break.
For many children, summer break can also mean a loss of reliable access to meals typically provided through school nutrition programs, requiring more food assistance in local communities. To help meet that seasonal need, Sweet Harvest Foods has donated honey to the following non-profit organizations:
- The Open Door Pantry in Eagan, Minn.
- Cannon Falls Food Shelf in Cannon Falls, Minn.
- Hope 4 Youth in Anoka, Minn.
- The Salvation Army Service Centers in Fort Myers, Fla.
- Central California Food Bank in Fresno, Calif.
“At Sweet Harvest Foods, we are committed to making a meaningful impact in the communities where we live and work,” said Michael Carle, CEO of Sweet Harvest Foods. “When school meal programs pause for the summer, food banks often face greater demand from families who need support. We are proud to partner with these organizations by donating honey and helping expand access to all-natural food during a critical time of year.”
Together, these five nonprofit organizations serve hundreds of thousands of individuals and families each year through food assistance and community support services. In addition, Sweet Harvest Food’s brand, Nate’s Honey, donated honey to six other food banks across the U.S. to alleviate food insecurity during the summer break as part of its Honey Gives Hope initiative.
Through its corporate giving programs, Sweet Harvest Foods partners with food banks, schools and other nonprofit organizations to support families and strengthen the communities where the company operates.
