CANNON FALLS, MINN. – September 30, 2024 – Sweet Harvest Foods, the leader in the U.S. natural sweetener industry, has teamed up with Nature Nate’s Honey Co. (Nate’s), the number-one branded honey company in the U.S., to provide financial donations to five non-profits in California, Minnesota and Texas. With the mission of supporting families and kids in areas where Sweet Harvest Foods and Nate’s have a local presence, the donations offer financial relief and spread a message of goodwill and hope during National Honey Month.

“At Sweet Harvest Foods, we have a heart for making an impact in the communities where we work and live,” said Mike Carle, president & chief financial officer of Sweet Harvest Foods. “We are proud to assist local organizations that serve a critical role in helping children and families meet nutritional needs and gain dignity and support.”

Donations were made to:

  • Lakeville Area Schools Feeding It Forward in Lakeville, Minn.
  • The Open Door Food Pantry in Lakeville, Minn.
  • Dakota Woodlands in Cannon Falls, Minn.
  • Feeding America in Riverside & San Bernardino, Calif.
  • Genesis Women’s Shelter & Support in Dallas, Texas

Through its corporate giving program, Sweet Harvest Foods supports local organizations including food banks, schools and non-profits. In summer 2024, financial donations were made to 360 Communities and The Open Door to celebrate the grand opening of Sweet Harvest Foods’ new company headquarters and distribution center in Lakeville, Minn. In spring 2024, Sweet Harvest Foods sponsored an art grant to benefit the art department at Cannon Falls High School.

“National Honey Month is an exciting time for Nate’s, and we want to make this season sweet beyond the honey we bottle,” said Nathan Sheets, founder and president of Nate’s. “We are grateful to be a part of the Sweet Harvest Foods family and a donation that will make a difference to children and families in our local community.”

In celebration of National Honey Month, Nate’s invested in honey bee research at top institutions including Cornell University, University of California, Davis, and University of Texas at Dallas. In addition to contributions to research, Nate’s has supported other organizations in 2024 through its Honey Gives Hope program, including National Breast Cancer Foundation, Dress for Success Twin Cities and food banks across the country.
